Sometimes you need to be up high.  Sometimes you need to be down low.

Assignment 1

Greetings! My name is Ally Gold…and this is what has happened so far.  I realized at an early age that I wanted to do film.  Well, actually, I wanted to do everything; however, film was the most constant through out my life.  When I was in elementary school, my best friend and I were given a huge beast of a shoulder crushing VHS recorder by her dad.  Weighing in at a measly 60lbs in 5th grade, this dinosaur made my scrawny little arms develop muscles very quickly.  Right off the bat, I began writing (obviously amazing and world changing) scripts.  We created the ever so artsy and beautiful, “Stray Cats in a House Being Built”.  An absolutely heart stopping terror of horror dubbed, “The Freaky Road”, as well as, the reoccurring hilarious comedy show, “Story Time with Allison.”  But even after our family members beamed down praise and success upon us, did we stop? No, graduating into middle school, we quickly moved on to recreating music videos for classics like, Nysnc’s “Dirty Pop”, featuring real pop, and “My Heart Will Go On” by the always lovely, Celine Dion.
With all of this fame and fortune we were experiencing in the Moore and Gold households, I decided that it was time to create a feature film.  I spearheaded the writing, the directing, and… that was basically it.  We created a hillbilly gangster drama featuring a full cast of family members acting in a cocaine bust.  The screening was a night to remember.  Everyone cheered at the end of our odd nameless film and congratulated us on what is probably the best movie ever made by bored 6th graders.  To this day, no one has quite figured out how we knew what cocaine was or what it looked like.  It ‘s a mystery that will forever float around the beauty.
I took a break from the amateur filmmaking after middle school when I thought that being a whale trainer in SeaWorld sounded like a straight killer idea.  After that went down the drain, I moved on to the Coast Guard where I was stationed in California.  During my stint in the military, I decided to go back to what I knew how to do, make people laugh, and film seemed like my favorite way to do just that.
The credit of my motivation with making films as a child can be distributed equally to the cast of CKY and to Napster for allowing me to discover and download the movies for free.  One of the main characters of the CKY movies, Brandon DiCamillo, quickly became my role model.  He was beyond a doubt, the funniest person on this earth, and I still believe that to this day.  All of these things blended together have pushed me to strive to write and direct comedy.  However, writing and directing is something that I want to do on my own time with my own means; henceforth, I want to skip happily down the path of tedious editing towards the ultimate goal of meshing together stellar movie trailers.  In ten years, if this goal has not been reached, not only will I probably be super broke, but I will also still be bartending, which means that it’ll be time for me to find a sugar daddy and settle down.
A very unique thing about me is that at this current moment, I am sick with fever and dwelling in my lair of a bed.  Not the type of fever that kills you in the exquisite computer game that is “Oregon Trail”, but the type of fever that makes you lie in bed and watch the 3rd disc of “The Fellowship of the Rings” (special features) three times in a row.  Another fact is that I own a quite good-looking golden retriever named Moose who is actually typing this right now during my afternoon of weakness.  She’s just great. She’ll be three years old this Christmas and sometimes likes to overdose on her favorite ball.
